|Travelling around London, it’s not hard to see the dark, bleak advertisements from Thames Water : “WE ARE IN DROUGHT”, they read, and they’re everywhere.
Life continues on as normal, however, road traffic swirling past the depictions of scorched, cracked earth displayed in bus shelters.
Only those who already know will care.
|Only those who already know about the severe drought in South East England and care about it will bother to read the posters.
Why did Thames Water bother to print them ? Are they trying to get us used to solemn negative public pronouncements ? Is this war – Nature versus humanity ?
