Right Before Your Eyes

If you care to actually spend 10 seconds looking at the NASA GISS “Blob Chart” (see link above), you will easily detect a continually warming trend. Yes, there are dips and climbs. Yes, there is variability. No, Global Warming did not stop in 1998.

This very easy-reading level of visual information, apparently, is not good enough to convince Janet Daley that Global Warming is happening. She just can’t make it out amongst all the noise, probably coming from the Climate Change Deniers.

Whether she knows it or not, she is not telling the truth.

What dodgy dossier did she read ? Who wrote it ? Who edited it ? When will she start paying attention to reliable sources of information on this most crucial of issues ? The fact that she has never studied Science should not give her an excuse to ignore dumbed-down four-colour presentations that show the facts extremely clearly.

“Janet Daley was born in America where she began her political life on the Left as an undergraduate at Berkeley. She moved to Britain (and to the Right) in 1965 where she spent nearly twenty years in academic life before becoming a political commentator: all factors that inform her writing on British and American policy and politicians. Why I am a global warming sceptic: part 92 : By Janet Daley : Last updated: November 24th, 2009 : There has been no global warming since 1998 : According to the UN climate agency, the level of greenhouse gases has hit record levels. And carbon dioxide levels are rising faster than in previous years. Furthermore, these levels have apparently risen every year since detailed records began in 1998. So why, why, why is it that there has been no global warming since that very year: why indeed is 1998 the year in which, it has been noted, the temperature of the earth began slightly but perceptibly to fall? I am not a scientist. I have no meteorological expertise whatever. But I spent twenty years teaching philosophy and I know a logical contradiction when I see one. If greenhouse gases, and most particularly carbon dioxide, are the chief cause of global warming, then surely there should be a direct correlation between their rise (especially if it is one of record-breaking proportions) and a rise in the rate of warming. Can somebody please explain to me how an increase in these gases can exactly coincide with a fall in temperature? And while they are doing it, can they please refrain from cooking the figures (pun intended)?”

Propaganda is going on, right before your eyes.

I am glad to find this webpage again. I have been wondering what happened to it. If we had a similar graph setup for extinction rates of mammals, amphibians, birds and U.S. mortgages, then maybe we could get some traction. I think they would make great borders around the walls of public buildings. The walls of Nascar tracks. The field bill boards of stadiums. In front of curtains while the audience of a show waits for them to part. Borders at the upper edge of mirrors in public places. Around the tops of the shelters at bus stops. Going down the stair wells of schools, hotels, movie theatres, shopping malls, auditoriums. On the gas price bill boards at gas stations. In locker rooms. Around the halls of Congress. On the dinner plate settings at the White House.

How can I get in touch with the maker of the Monthly Mean Global Temperature Chart? I want to learn if from the maker’s if that final “7” on the final scale is a mistake, as I feel sure it is, but… acceleration may be being given its rope.

There are two of us who would like to reproduce this in a quilt that is both art and environmental activism, and we want to know the correct scale.

Thank you,

carol isaac

gas prices are still on the rise today, we should go Alternative Fuel~`*

gas prices would steadily go up and the supply dwindle and the saudis like to increase their profit margin~*.

gas prices will always increase that is why we should focus on alternative energy sources
