Deny Everything
Posted on August 17th, 2010 No commentsThe sky is unnaturally warm, so the satellites are telling us.
So what do the Climate Change deniers do ? Claim all the satellites are defunct :-

“Nation’s battered satellite environmental monitoring program : Top Climate Scientists Speak out on the Satellitegate Scandal : By John O’Sullivan Monday, August 16, 2010 : US Government admits global warming satellite sensors “degraded” – temperatures may be out by 10-15 degrees. Now five satellites in controversy. Top scientists speak out. In an escalating row dubbed ‘Satellitegate’ further evidence proves NOAA knew of these faults for years. World’s top climate scientists and even prior governmental reports cite underfunding and misallocation as the trigger for spiraling satellite data calamities. Key flaws with five satellites undermines global data. Most disturbing of all is that it took publication of my article last week to persuade the authorities to withdraw the errant NOAA-16 satellite from service. But as Dr. John Christy indicates, the real Satellitegate is not about one satellite. The scandal is endemic with comparable flaws across the entire network; the scandal is also that it took a tip off from a member of the public and the widespread broadcast of my article before one of the offending junk boxes, NOAA-16, got taken down…”
Anyone who’s doubting that we’re back to the bad old days of outright denial should pay attention. Next thing you know, the Climate Change contrarians will be claiming that the whole of Science is dubious…what ? They did that already (for the last 25 years) ?

Global Warming : Dramatic Reversal !
Posted on June 30th, 2010 No commentsThere has been a dramatic reversal in global temperatures since El Nino has collapsed in the Pacific Ocean, leading to the remarkable result that the UAH satellite record shows an amazing reversal – the global average temperature at Surface Level yesterday was a whopping 529.66 degrees Fahrenheit below the same day last year ! Amazing ! Unbelievable ! The Earth must be heading for an Ice Age now…
Or maybe not. Maybe they’re just tinkering with the website to remove the “20 year average” lines which would show that the Earth is undeniably warming up :-

What’s Up With UAH ?
Posted on June 21st, 2010 No commentsFor a few days last week, I was afraid that the University of Alabama in Huntsville had had their computers hacked, as Channel 5 of their satellite record showed just a single data point.
By the 16th June 2010, however, full data for the year to date was visible again, but it seemed that data from previous years was not available, as the chart legend said that the temperature at 14,000 feet above the Earth’s surface was 457.01 degrees Fahrenheit higher than last year (as you can see in the snapshot above). I concluded, quite logically I feel, that something was amiss.
What’s up with UAH, I asked myself ?

Northern Summer’s Here
Posted on May 28th, 2010 No commentsYes, why does the heat dip in the Stratosphere, when it bumps up in the Troposphere ?
And why has the temperature in the Stratosphere averaged downwards over the years as the temperature in the Troposphere has pushed upwards on average over the same period ?
Wouldn’t have anything to do with…Anthropogenic Global Warming, would it ?
I believe it might…

Frying the Sky
Posted on March 27th, 2010 No commentsWhat is the average temperature of the Earth ? How can we tell if it’s heating up with all the confusing noise from variability in the system ?
The UAH satellite data record offers a view of temperatures at different heights above the Earth’s surface. It accomplishes this by analysing the outgoing radiation from the Earth.
At 4.4 kilometres above the surface, on Channel 5, where you would expect things such as the “Urban Heat Island effect” to be insignificant, and weather systems to be less randomising, 2010 is proving to be a rather warm year, likely hotter than 1998, 2005 and 2007. Drawing in the 20 year maximum temperatures, it is clear that 2010 is knocking records.
Solar activity is at a minimum, so that can’t be driving this year’s warming. Cosmic rays aren’t causing this warming either, and the warming is ongoing, despite the cooling predicted from decreasing CFCs. The Earth has continued to warm up consistently, despite recent claims that the warming has levelled off or gone into reverse.
We are frying the sky. It’s time we paid serious attention.
