		<description>To equate Nu Labor with socialism takes an unbelievable stretch of the imagination. Even old Labour was hardly socialist: reformist yes, socialist no.

This equation of Labour with socialism is much more akin to the American idea of anything being vaguely reformist to be socialist. 

Socialism means many things to many people. But whatever happens in the UK it will not mean the end of socialism in its many varieties.

German ex-dissident wrote convincingly of the need for eco-socialism. That, I believe, is the way forward for those who see the urgent need to replace the destructiveness of capitalism with a system that respects the biosphere.</description>
